Textures

Steve is an editorial photographer: he tells stories with images. The content of his photographic stories can be detailed and straightforward. Or more purely graphic and emotional—as the world transforms into an endless series of textures and compositions.

He tries to live by poet Mary Oliver’s “Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”

Ernst Haas became one of my teachers and mentors when I bought his book "The Creation" in the 1970s. I call this montage of details "The Creation / Utah" as a small tribute to his wonderfully graphic images.
